Madden is already overpriced as it is (in my opinion) - especially when you consider how much money EA makes from the Ultimate Team feature - so I'm certainly happy that I got to play this mode without having to spend any extra money. It's inclusion in the core package is probably one of the reasons that franchise mode received so little attention this year, as I'm sure this thing must have taken a lot of time and resources. In fact, it very easily could have been released as a stand-alone game or "expansion" DLC pack for Madden 18, rather than being a back-of-the-box feature. It's very much its own self-contained thing. Longshot is a pretty radically different gameplay mode compared to the rest of Madden, and so it also felt kind of out-of-place in the review for the rest of the game. Games like 2K's NBA 2k have been doing a similar thing for years. It was starting to get kind of long and rambly, so I decided to break off the section regarding the Longshot story mode (which I've already played to completion) into its own post so that I could be a little more thorough regarding this unique game mode.

To get this ending, simply do the things from the ending before but just choose differently when Marino calls. While this does end your journey with your best friend, you’ll see that a little friendly competition doesn’t hurt anyone. This ending is similar to the one before it, but instead of joining Colt, you sign with your favorite team. WADE GOES UNDRAFTED, COLT GETS DRAFTED BUT WADE SIGNS WITH A DIFFERENT TEAM To get this ending, you’ll need to make decisions based on your heart, and help Cruise out as much as possible whenever he asks this is especially the case in the last challenge where you’ll go for the “impossible throw” to Cruise. This ending shows what happens when Devin chooses to go sign with Colt. While Devin is heartbroken, he does get a call from Marino to either join his favorite team or the team that Colt is drafted by, which happens to be a division rival. This ending sees Colt drafted in the 7th round instead of Devin. This is especially the case in the end of the game where you have a choice to make: yourself look smart and check down, or make Colt look good and throw a play not called by your coach.ĭEVIN GOES UNDRAFTED, COLT GETS DRAFTED AND DEVIN SIGNS WITH COLT You’ll also need to be a bit selfish in how you play the game, and choose any decision that makes your character look good. To obtain this ending, you’ll need to play with your head and not your heart. However, your friend Colt Cruise does not get drafted but instead decides to pursue his music career (while still keeping in NFL shape, just in case). The first ending sees Devin get drafted in the 7th round by his favorite team, the team you tell Dan Marino earlier in the story.
